Joyshree Das Verma is the Immediate Past President of FLO, the Women’s wing of FICCI for 2024-25. As the 41st National President of FLO, she led the organization to a transformative impact, reaching over 10,25,641 women,  including FLO members and women across India. Her tenure exemplified the power of collective vision, collaboration, and steadfast dedication to women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship, and leadership.

 Under her leadership, FLO expanded its footprint by launching the 20th Chapter in Siliguri, championing women’s leadership in boardrooms, empowering grassroots entrepreneurs, and forging international collaborations to strengthen women’s participation in the global economy.

Key initiatives spearheaded by her  included Financial Literacy & Digital Skilling, equipping women with essential skills to thrive in a digital economy, Business Development & Leadership Training, mentoring women entrepreneurs and aspiring board members, Emotional Wellness & Inspirational Series, fostering holistic well-being alongside professional growth, Women Corporate Directors Initiative, training women to take on leadership roles in corporate boardrooms, and the Startup & MSME Assist Cell, supporting women-led startups and MSMEs with mentorship, advisory services, and access to funding.

Her leadership saw significant advancements in the Handloom, Textile & Handicrafts Initiative, where FLO empowered women artisans by facilitating market linkages, design innovation, and sustainable practices, helping them transition from traditional craftsmanship to scalable businesses. Similarly, the Fashion & Jewellery Initiative created new economic opportunities for women-led enterprises, fostering collaborations between designers, weavers, and entrepreneurs to strengthen India’s presence in the global fashion landscape.

 

On the global stage, she led the FICCI FLO Business Mission to the Baltic-Nordic region, fostering global partnerships and investment opportunities, and organized a cultural and business immersion delegation to London to strengthen cross-border ties. She spearheaded the expansion of India’s first-ever FLO Women’s Industrial Park in Telangana by announcing a second Women’s Industrial Park in Indore, Madhya Pradesh—a landmark step towards inclusive economic growth.

Under her leadership, FICCI FLO launched four significant publications: ‘A Framework for Transformative Action: Enabling Women Entrepreneurship in Northeast India’, a report outlining strategies to foster an inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region, emphasizing the Northeast as India’s gateway to South and East Asia, and ‘Seeds of Change: Women Entrepreneurs Cultivating Northeast India’s Entrepreneurial Future’, a coffee table book showcasing inspiring stories of first-generation women entrepreneurs who have transformed traditional skills into sustainable business models.

 

Ports of Possibilities: Strengthening Women’s Representation in Maritime India” – A pivotal study outlining strategic interventions to enhance gender inclusivity and enhance Women’s participation in Ports, Shipping and Waterways. The study aligns with Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of women-led development and the broader goal of Viksit Bharat @2047. Building on transformative government initiatives like Maritime India Vision 2030, the Sagarmala Programme, and “Sagar Mein Samman,” the report outlines strategic interventions across employment, gender-sensitive infrastructure, and skilling initiatives to enhance women’s participation in this crucial sector.

 

“Women @ Work: Status of Gender Diversity in Corporate India (2025)” – A comprehensive research study analyzing gender diversity trends, challenges, and opportunities in India’s corporate ecosystem.

 

With over 25 years of corporate and entrepreneurial experience, Joyshree Das Verma blends strategic vision with operational excellence. She serves as the Honorary Consul of Israel to Northeast India, working across all eight northeastern states.  She is also the Director & Co-Promoter of Kaapro Management Solutions Pvt. Ltd., an ISO-certified HR consulting firm with a pan-India presence and  specializing in recruitment, staffing, consulting,outsourcing and training solutions. Her journey began in 2003 as the Business Partner of MAFOI Management Consultants Ltd (now Randstad) in the Northeast—pioneering HR solutions in the region. Prior to her entrepreneurial ventures, she honed her expertise at TNT Skypak and the Tata Group’s Taj Mahal Hotel, Mumbai.

 

She has held several leadership roles in FICCI and FLO, including Chairperson, FLO Northeast (2015-16), National Coordinator for FLO’s E-Commerce Initiative (2016-19), National Governing Body Member, FICCI FLO, First Chair of FICCI MSME Northeast, and Member, FICCI MSME National Committee. Beyond business, she is deeply committed to social welfare, policy advocacy, and community development through roles such as Committee Member of the India-ASEAN Women Business Forum (IAWBF) and  Trustee of Mission Smile. Her entrepreneurial spirit was ignited through her interaction with the late J.R.D. Tata, whose ethos of integrity and nation-building continues to inspire her. Guided by the philosophy of Zen Shin, she believes: “A flower does not think of competing with the flower next to it; it just blooms.” Through her leadership, advocacy, and passion for empowering women, Joyshree Das Verma continues to drive meaningful impact, fostering a more inclusive, sustainable, and prosperous future for women across India and beyond.
