Zia Mody, India’s top corporate attorney and an expert on corporate merger and acquisition law, securities law, private equity and project finance walked us through the simple ways to be prepared and not flummoxed if an untoward situation should arise.

Basic financial literacy is a pre-requisite; by which she implied getting to know the structure of one’s family business and its shareholding pattern. The next thing that would help in an unbecoming circumstance would be to know what you own and know what your family owns. One should start looking at one’s Income Tax returns and Wealth Tax returns.
