Threaded Visions – Contemporary Embroidery for a Sustainable Future

FLO Mumbai in association with Milaya Embroideries Art Foundation organised a session Threaded Visions – Contemporary Embroidery for a sustainable future

Blending the lines of Indian Craft and Art to create masterpieces of the Indian Masters re-created by Milaaya Embroideries by Gayatri Khanna.

This is was an experience of reviving a dying art of embroidery where it would have an impact on providing a livelihood to artisans by providing them training from experts for them to become financially independent. These were art painting masterpieces in embroidery form.

The Milaaya Art Foundation would from the sale of proceeds provide housing and basic facilities to the artisans so that the heritage of hand embroidery is carried on by the future younger generation so as to retain its rich heritage.
