Talk on “Creative Living” by Dr. Harbeen Arora

An exclusive session was held for FLO members on the bestselling book, “Creative Living,” (New York: Morgan James, 2010) by its author, Dr. Harbeen Arora, who earned her Ph.D from the University of Paris. She has given extensive talks on Creative Living to audiences in India and the US. She did an exceptional tour of the Ivy League Universities like Princeton, Yale, Harvard, MIT, Columbia etc. Dr. Arora said that she began writing this book in the hope of self-discovery and self-enquiry. And her prayers were answered. Not only did she understand herself and her life better, she discovered universal approaches that each one of us can use to heal ourselves through our own capacity for Wisdom, Work, and Will.

Some of her wellness mantras liked by all the members were: “Arrogance robs us of our elegance”; “Why lose our own education in trying to educate someone else”; “Life wasn’t meant to be easy, because we weren’t meant to be lazy!”; “When we keep a vigil on others, we forget to keep it on ourselves!”; and finally, “You can get money even by loans or donations, but for respect and love, you need to earn your way through.”

The talk was followed by an engaging Q &A session with the author. It closed with Hi-tea and a special exhibition by of elegant woven saris by Amaanat in aid of artisans.
