“Successful Mothers & Daughters in the Business of Luxury”

FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) organised a very interesting interactive session on “Successful Mothers & Daughters in the Business of Luxury” on February 1, 2019 at FICCI.

Mothers often start a business with hardships, as they are first time entrepreneurs with very little knowledge of business, financial management and Marketing Strategies. They are also mothers running homes and looking after children at the same time trying to keep the work-life balance. However, they have made successes of their business.

The Daughters are of the new generation and have the advantage of better education, with better finances and access to technology. They have new ideas and a professional approach towards the same business their mother’s started, taking them to greater heights.

These business ladies together have created a mark in the business of luxury, a sector primarily dominated by men. They have truly done India proud by creating an International presence.

The Mother & Daughter Panelists were – Ms Zarine Khan & Ms Sussanne Khan, The Charcoal Project ( Interior design concept store);  Ms Nelofar Currimbhoy, Shahnaz Herbals ( Beauty & Wellness), Ms Sunita Kohli &  Ms Kohelika Kohli, K2INDIA (Multidisciplinary design and architecture) and Ms Asha Kamal Modi and Ms Shivani Modi, Art Karat ( Jewellery Brand).

FLO President, Pinky Reddy said, “While moms and daughters have certainly worked together throughout the ages, this is perhaps the times where more and more people are recognizing the special and unique bond between mothers and daughters working together in the business arena.”
