Social Responsibility

We at YFLO are conscious of our social responsibilities as an integral part of our civic duties. Society survives on compassion and upholding this ethos we have taken up two initiatives towards social responsibility, this year.

Installation of Computer Lab in Alipore Correctional Home

After a preliminary visit and due correspondence with the Director General of West Bengal Correctional Homes, YFLO Kolkata decided to set up a computer lab at the Home to further enhance the skill building of the adults. On the occasion of Women’s Day, March 8, at 10.30 am a team of YFLO members visited the premises of the Correctional Home and was shown around the campus by the authorities. The computer lab with four computers and a server was inaugurated at the home to facilitate IT skill building of the inmates.

Installation of Sanitary Pad Vending Machines

Keeping in mind the utmost importance of sexual health among adolescent girls, we decided to install sanitary pad vending machines in schools for underprivileged children and women. To start with we installed two machines at Vikram Vidyalaya, Howrah on January 10. The next set of machines was installed at an NGO, Ektaara, on March 3. Another set of machine is scheduled to be installed at All Bengal Women’s Union.
