SKILLFEST 2016

The”SKILLFEST” an initiative of FLO Pune took place on Saturday 14th May 2016 at the Women ITI (Industrial Training Institute), Aundh.It was a huge success attended by over 200 members and parents.

The FLO Skilling committee trained over 250 girls over the last year in cosmetology, dressmaking, food processing and interiors, and the girls showcased their talent through a fashion show and an exhibition.

The SKILLFEST was a presentation of the work, the Skilling committee members have been doing at the ITI, since 2015.

Through the year, the Skilling committee has been supplementing the academic education provided by the ITI; with initiatives such as industrial visits, guest lectures, soft skills training, workshops etc.

The Police Commissioner Mrs Rashmi Shukla graced the event as a Chief Guest. In her address she advised the girls to be bold and fearless and learn to stand on their own feet.

Mrs Lila Poonawala the founder of Lila Poonawala Foundation was the Guest of Honour. She was impressed by the wonderful initiative taken by Skilling Committee, her message for the students was, ” Girls should focus on their career even after marriage by skillfully handling personal and professional life”.

The show was flawlessly compared by a student of ITI .

The Dress designing students walked walked the ramp in the dresses made by them.

The Food Processing students launched the food product called Jhakas . These Jhakas food products had a range from tea masala, murabba, panna, khakra, chutney etc.

Cosmetology students showcased their Saundarya cosmetic products self packaged items like face pack, face scrub, Di pigmentation powder etc.

Khaogalli offered food made by students as refreshments to guests and to all the people who attended the event.

The SKILLFEST had a creative counter where girls showcased their talent through nail arts, tattoos, and mehandi.

This year Mrs Sabina Sanghvi, the chairpersons focus is on soft skill training like personality development, spoken English and most importantly placements of these girls in different industries. 0.
