Seminar on World of Gemstones

FICCI Ladies Organization (FLO),Ahmedabad chapter had organized a very informative interesting and an awareness seminar on the ‘World of Gemstones’.

Mrs. Nirupa Bhatt, MD, GIA-India and Middle East conducted the seminar.

The presentation focused on some fundamentals like what is a diamond, its formation, 4 C’s of diamond, possible treatments and care to be taken for selection of diamonds etc. The details about the colored diamonds, synthetic, industrial diamonds and famous diamonds of the world was very exciting. She also talked about pearls, 7 value factors developed by GIA, precious and birth stones. Trend wise, Indians prefer diamonds and pearls while colored stones are very popular in the western world.

There were many takeaways for the participants like importance of breathing of the pearls and best methods to store and take care of jewellery. They also learnt about important information they should seek before purchase as an enlightened customer. The place and contribution of India in international market gave a sense of pride to everybody.
