Sambhrama- FLO Annual Interstate Meet Bangalore

FLO organized its Annual Interstate Meet for 2021-22 under the Presidentship of Ujjwala Singhania at Bangalore from December 2-4, 2021.

The Interstate Meet is an annual feature and is organized in different Chapters every year. This year the Interstate Meet was hosted by Bangalore Chapter, led my Revathi Raju, Chairperson FLO Bangalore and her team.

Aptly titled “Sambhrama”, which means  excitement, enthusiasm and  celebration, the Interstate Meet provided the perfect milieu for exchange of ideas and meeting of the minds, in the back drop of the vibrant, colourful and historical rich city of Bangalore.

The interstate meet was an extraordinary amalgamation of intellectually stimulating discussions, entertainment and networking as also a blend of learning sessions, members bonding over lunches and dinners.

The Interstate meet was even more significant, as FLO Bangalore celebrated 10 years of its existence. The Past Chairpersons of the Chapter were felicitated and recognized for their contribution in nurturing and growing the Chapter, in a gala event held at Bangalore Palace.

FLO is dedicated to promoting art and textiles, thus introducing weavers from across states under the name of Vastram. This event had traditional and vibrant textiles on display, with artisans showcasing Chikankari, Kalamkari, Shibori, Ikat, Maheshwari, Kale Nele, Handloom silks, leather puppets, and cotton printed fabrics. FLO Bazaar and Vastram was a designer collective exhibition, featuring the best in traditional crafts and weaves.

The entertainment of the evenings included  star-studded show by Gaurang Shah, Shuba Mudgal and Sufi performers, followed by an elaborate dinner.

The interstate meet also featured industry visits to ISRO and Jindal, heritage tours to the UNESCO site Hampi and also a congregate at the Bangalore palace for a tete a tete with the Maharani of Mysore, Pramoda Devi-Wadiyar.
