ROUND TABLE – Caring for Tomorrow: Addressing the Gender Gaps in Care Work

FICCI Ladies Organization (FLO), Kolkata Chapter, under the leadership of Chairperson Radhika Dalmia, recently convened a landmark roundtable discussion titled “Caring for Tomorrow: Addressing the Gender Gaps in Care Work.” Celebrating four decades of fostering women’s entrepreneurship and professional excellence, FLO Kolkata chapter, part of the prestigious Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), highlighted its unwavering commitment to shaping an inclusive economic landscape where women’s contributions are valued and amplified.

At this significant gathering, luminaries like Ms. Vandana Yadav, lauded for her impactful role in the industry, commerce, and enterprise sectors, and Ms. Sudha Shivkumar, the dynamic 40th National President of FLO, graced the event. The discourse, moderated by economist and transport specialist Mitali Nikore, aimed to dissect the nuanced challenges of care work, fostering dialogues for policy recommendations to the government, thereby forging paths towards sustainable development and gender parity.

In her opening remarks, Radhika Dalmia, a vanguard for women’s empowerment, laid out the ambitious vision of the chapter.
