MANAGING PEOPLE by Mr. Vivek Kaul

FLO jaipur chapter organized a workshop on “MANAGING PEOPLE” by Mr. Vivek Kaul.   It was an informative and interactive session which was concluded by 4 case studies as a test.

The major takeaways of the workshop were as under-

1. A human is like an iceberg .Only 1/10th is visible of the entire personality, which is the behavior of a person. The rest 9/10th which is not seen is the motives, traits & self- Image. So to manage people we have to understand them not only by their behavior patterns but also through their motives, traits & self image.
2. Traits of a person are the basic nature which never changes though for various motives we might change them temporarily and exhibit a particular behavior.
3. There are four basic parameters in judging a person-

a) Dominance
b) Extroversion
c) Patience
d) Formality

These traits will help us in assigning jobs to them, in which they will excel, for example -Person high in dominance and extroversion will be good in management /sales/marketing jobs where as person high in patience/formality will be good in creativity/HR department /accounts /structure/social work.

4. The three major features in a person are – knowledge, skill and attitude, to which he gave maximum importance to ATTITUDE. According to him if a person has right kind of attitude he can be provided with knowledge and skill and he will outperform a person who has knowledge and skill but wrong attitude.

He emphasized that these days the Companies prefer to hire people with better attitude than better skills & knowledge.

In the end Mr. Kaul provided PERSONAL INDEX SCORE CARD to all the participants which were quite helpful in self analysis.
