The event “LUXURY THEN & NOW” in conversation with Vikram Oberoi, CEO of Oberoi Hotels and Resorts took place in the grand ballroom of the Heritage property of The Oberoi, Kolkata on the 3rd of August. Mr. Vikram spoke in depth about the hospitality industry, its challenges and the level of precision required to maintain its top notch level of service. He reminisced with tears, the traumatic moments of 26/11 – one of the most emotionally wrenching time for the Indians. The influence of social media like Trip Advisor, Facebook etc. and its impact on the modern day traveller and the service providers was also discussed.
