India’s Recovery Post Covid: Role of Tech Industry with Mr Rishad Premji, Chairman, WIPRO

FLO organised an interaction with Mr Rishad Premji, Chairman, WIPRO on ‘India’s Recovery Post Covid: Role of Tech Industry’, on August 24, 2021. Ms Archana Vijaya, Television Presenter & Entrepreneur moderated the session.
Mr Rishad Premji is the Executive Chairman of Wipro Limited, an Indian multinational corporation that provides information technology, consulting, and business process services. The Fortune India 500 ranks WIPRO as the 29th largest Indian company by total revenue and it is also ranked the 9th largest employer in India with nearly 195,000 employees.

In her welcome address, National President, Ujjwala Singhania said, “With a history of 38 successful years of woman empowerment initiatives, FLO has been able to build a formidable network of motivated and talented women, which in turn contributes towards a more enlightened and stronger society. This year, my focus is on empowering women by facilitating an enabling environment that promotes entrepreneurship, industry participation and economic development of women.”

Talking about the future of India in the post-pandemic times, Rishad said, “Technology has lessened the challenges of the pandemic at some level. Pandemic has hastened the technological advancement in the country. With this, businesses models are changing hugely. New-age technologies are also enabling businesses to drive hyper-personalization and collaboration with all stakeholders. Mindset changes is primary, and it is the first thing that is impacted with technological advancements. The biggest challenge is to build and live up to this opportunity.”

“Future of work is going to be a hybrid model. However, I feel that coming back to work is crucial for the culture of an organisation to grow. Ideation and Innovation happen when there is face to face communication. We are going to experiment and evaluate by beginning with senior leaders coming back to work from the office,” he added.
