Inauguration Ceremony of FICCI FLO Jaipur – Employability Skills Development Workshop with ITI by H.E. Smt. Margaret Alva, Hon'ble Governor of Rajasthan.

The Governor of Rajasthan, Smt. Margaret Alva inaugurated the ‘Employability Skills Development & Placement Workshop for Women in ITI’ at Hotel Marriott in Jaipur. The event was organized by FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO), Jaipur Chapter. She also unveiled the module of training for the women prepared by FLO.

The Governor of Rajasthan, Smt. Margaret Alva said that “skill development for women should be accorded high priority. It was of utmost importance to focus on such development and upgradation of skills among women to make them employable. She appreciated the fact that the 60-hours module would equip the women in the ‘Mahila ITI’, at Bani Park in Jaipur. Apart from teaching soft skills, spoken English and even self defence was indeed the need of the day for women to become confident and find appropriate placement. The upgradation of skills was a continuous process which should be done on sustained level for women”, she said.

The “Guest of Honour ” National President of FICCI FLO, Ms. Neeta Boochra said that the skills development programme was an exercise taken at a national level among all the 10 chapters of FLO. She said she was glad that the Jaipur chapter had also undertaken to follow this programme.

The FLO Chairperson, Jaipur Chapter, Ms Apra Kuchhal said that the workshop will provide a platform to help facilitate jobs for ITI trained women. She further said that it will enhance the employability skills of the women to bring about in them, social confidence and understanding the world of work. Furthermore, they will also be taught interpersonal and intrapersonal skills, spoken English and the basics of computer and accountancy. There will be 100 percent placement for the trainees.

The Chairman & Director, Mahila ITI, Bani Park, Jaipur, Mr. Ajay Gupta said that the programme module would value add the employability quotient of the students and help them find employment.
