Forging Ties with ASEAN

In support of women entrepreneurs FICCI FLO NORTH EAST CHAPTER had an interactive session on forging ties with ASEAN on 28th January 2018 in Guwahati – the speaker being Pacita Juan and Vinita Bimbhet Co-Chair of Indian Asean women business forum.
ECHOstore owner Pacita Juan is not just a leader in the coffee industry and sustainable lifestyle – she is also a leader in ensuring that women have a real voice in all aspects of society.

Ms Bimbhet, is the Director of The India Art Investment Company, and of Grameen Initiative for Women (GIW) which is focused primarily on the economic empowerment of the urban poor.

Moderator Joyshree Das Verma past Chairperson did an excellent job and ran the show smoothly. Chairperson Prabidita Bharati apart from her welcome address also threw light on the status of women and women entrepreneurs in North East.

Other delegates Suparna Trikha, New Delhi is a well-known natural beauty expert of herbs and ingredients and a columnist; and Ma Khine Zaw an industrialist from Myanmar.

Overall an informative session which can be summed in the words of Ms Juan “Business is a formidable force to empowerment as it can be a tool to achieve independence.”
