FLO & YFLO Bombay Change Of Guard April 29th, 2013

On 29th April 2013, FLO & YFLO Bombay Chapter held their Change of Guard Ceremony, sponsored by Hero Moto Corp. The evening saw a packed house at the Trident Hotel, Marine Drive.

Dr. Kiran Bedi was the Chief Guest and she ushered in the new Executive Committee. This was followed by a brief overview of ‘Follow Every Rainbow’ the successful book on 25 Women Entrepreneurs by author Rashmi Bansal.

Addressing an audience of woman entrepreneurs, professionals, educators and social workers, Dr Kiran Bedi reiterated that “It is the duty of the government to make it difficult for people to do wrong, easy to do right. India needs a vision more than leaders. I am looking at FICCI-FLO to propagate a vision. Men have not united the nation, why can’t women do it?”

She also observed the transactional versus transformational model of governance. She suggested the root to “Lok-tushti” through “Atma-tushti”. The country she said needed a 365 day code of conduct for political leaders and role of FLO Bombay should reach a level where it can culminate in a policy of the government.

What made this evening different was that she was more interested in knowing what the audience had absorbed and what they felt about what she said. Needless to say that the ladies of FLO were energised and charged to make a difference and bring about a change and take FLO Bombay to a level where it is a force to be reckoned with.
