FLO Visit to Mathura: Krishna Janmasthan Darshan

A day trip to Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna was organised on April 9, 2016. It also provided an opportunity to network for the members who travelled together to an interesting place which holds immense historical and mythological significance.

Members visited the Krishna Janmasthan Temple, ancient architectural monument, which is situated at the site of the birth of Lord Krishna, which is one of the main attractions of the city in Uttar Pradesh and an important place of pilgrimage for the devotees of Hindu community. The members received special blessings and prasad in the temple after the darshan of the majestic temple.

The Mathura Museum was another highlight of the visit, an archeological museum which hosts priceless artefacts from the most important collection of the Mathura School of Sculptures — from 3rd century B.C. to 12th century A.D. The Government of India issued a postage stamp on October 9, 1974 on the centenary of the museum.

Jayanti Dalmia, Treasurer, FLO very graciously coordinated and meticulously planned the entire visit. Members were privy to a private darshan and prayers. She also hosted a sumptuous lunch for everyone.
