SKILL DEVELOPMENT & EMPOWERMENT –
The focus of President ,Ms Neeta Boochra this year is on Employability Skills Training for Women . Towards this end when FLO NE, got to know that the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, MSME Guwahati, was imparting training to 55 students on Jewellery Designing and Making and Gemstone Cutting And Polishing, from 17th March to 20th June, offered to help them find trainers from within its vast network of 3500 members, many of them in the jewellery business

FLO NE facilitated the training of the students , by introducing them to the Mumbai Chapter Chairperson, Ms Renu Kapoor, who then sent 4 teams of trainers from her Indian Institute of Jewellery.

They taught them wire jewellery, macrame jewellery, traditional enamelling and embossing to make modern , contemporary items.

Further help from FLO NE is sought in Business Development and Market Linkages, and training activities in future.

Thus, FLO being a Pan India organisation, this year FLO NE has started developing fruitful linkages with other Chapters and has used some of their resources for one of their Skilling programmes.

FLO President Neeta Boochra, and Senior Vice President , Archana Goradia Gupta were invited especially for the Valedictory Function of the IIE, where students were handed out certificates in the presence of senior Officials of OIL India Ltd , the official sponsor of this initiative, and North East Council Member, Mr M P Bezbaruah.
