‘Anshukam’ 2022 with the theme ‘Weaving Stories Through threads’ was an endeavour to help weavers and artisans from various parts of the country to connect with buyers both national and international, designers, exporters, and e-commerce. The event also provided market linkages to manufacturers of handloom and textiles and introduce new products and services.

The major highlights included about 70 stalls put up by artisans and designers showcasing latest trends in textiles and handlooms from various states in the country, series of fashions shows, talk shows, screening of documentaries, Ikebana demonstration inspired by Textiles, Organic dying work, textile painting show, and cultural events.

FLO President Jayanti Dalmia said, “ANSHUKAM 2022 is a celebration of India, our rich heritage, and our magnificent textile legacy. FLO believes in being thought leaders and change makers in every sphere, and one of our initiatives is to empower social entrepreneurship and enable a thriving environment for artisans as well.”

“In our endeavour to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of our great nation, a special vertical for promoting Indian textiles especially handlooms and hand-crafted garments has been created by FLO. Under the aegis of this initiative, FLO endeavours to bring together the most exquisite collection of Textiles and Handlooms from the artisans and designers from the States of India at Anshukam, 2022.”, she added.

The Indian handloom and handicraft sector further provides an impetus to the ‘Atma Nirbharta’ and ‘Vocal for Local’ campaigns of the Government of India, in addition to strengthening urban, rural, and forest livelihoods. Towards this, FLO has been continuously working towards taping the potential of these sectors.

“Indian handloom is back in the limelight, owing to the initiatives of the Narendra Modi-led government. Apart from government initiatives, there are individual steps as well.
