FICCI Ladies Organization 28th Annual Session Celebration 100 years of Delhi as Capital of Modern India & Inclusive Growth: Igniting India

The 28th Annual Session of FLO was organized on April 19 – 20, 2012 at FICCI, New Delhi.

An exhibition was organised on April 19, 2011 at FICCI. It was a celebration of 100 years of Delhi as Capital of Modern India. Eight selected participants, pioneers in the field of Art, Fashion, Culture and Craft participated in the event. A talk on ‘Delhi- Framing a Capital’ by Rahaab Allana, Curator, Alkazi Foundation for the Arts was also organized.

The theme of the year was “Inclusive Growth: Igniting India”. The term ‘inclusive growth’ has become the buzz word in today’s economic scenario. It is one of the most pertinent subject that caters to economic growth of the nation and in particular the empowerment of women in our country.

The occasion was marked by the felicitation of three visually challenged women achievers for their outstanding accomplishments; namely Preeti Monga, Kanchan Gaba and Monica Sharma.

Smt. Ambika Soni, Hon’ble Minister of Information & Broadcasting Govt. of India was the Chief Guest. Mr. K. P Singh, Chairman & CEO-DLF Ltd. and Brahma Kumari Sister Shivani, the Internationally acclaimed Rajayoga Meditation Guru were the special guests.

About 250 members from all over India participated the event. Mrs Neena Malhotra President passed on the baton of FLO at the end of the event to Kavitha Varadaraj who took over as President of FLO for the year 2012-13.
