Feminine Thought in Contemporary Indian Poetry

Poetry is an extremely strong medium of expression and when a poem is written by a master of the craft, it brings forth the beauty and sensitivity of the thoughts expressed in poignantly unforgettable terms.

FLO organized an exclusive poetry session “Feminine Thought in Contemporary Indian Poetry”, with the objective to bring together poets who give voice to the contemporary feminine thought, – desires, aspirations, reflections and experiences

Ten women eminent women poets of Hindi and Urdu literature showcasedtheir creative expressions in a beautiful way and captivated the attention of the members with their inspirational poetry on women. The poets were: Aleena Itrat, Anupriya, Iffat Zarin, Malvika Hari Om, Mamta Kiran, Dr. Rashmi Malhotra, Neena Seher, Sonroopa, Sushila Shivran and Tarranum Riyaz.

This was perhaps a never seen before panel at FLO, wherein we have ten eminent women poets were in a single platform.

In her welcome address, FLO President Archana Garodia Gupta said,”Poetry and creativity in all its forms is a catalyst for conversation and change and as such, we at FLO believe that it is essential to lend voice to such artistic expression of freedom and empowerment. Our members will find, many of their unspoken thoughts couched and expressed in the verse of these Poets.”

FLO member, Mridula Tandon coordinated and anchored the event. FLO Governing Body Member, Ritu Vadehra gave the Vote of Thanks. Lunch was hosted by Garima Jain, GB Member.
