EMPOWERING WOMEN – KNOW YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS

The Women Empowerment vertical began with the bang of a gavel! FLO Kolkata members attended an enlightening talk by Justice Banerjee, retired Justice of the Supreme Court of India, and Justice Bhattacharya, Judge in the High Court of Calcutta, along with Senior Supreme Court Advocate Priya Hingorani. This event was attended by 140 members.

As the honorable judges walked us through their personal journeys, we learned about the challenges that faced these young legal scholars. The Justices were met with opposition at the most basic levels and were supported by champions who helped them push through. FLO Kolkata members also received advice on how to support and empower the less privileged among us to confront injustice and stand up for their rights.

It was a wonderful session as the Justices engaged us with their real-life courtroom dramas and shared their own daily personal mantras that remind them of their power and commitment to serving justice equitably and honorably
