Dinner with benefits

YFLO Kolkata’s The Philanthropy Club had its inaugural event : “Dinner with Benefits”, held on 3rd May at The Park Hotel. The event drew in 60 compassionate members eager to contribute to the Textile Initiative, going with the National Initiative in association with Concern India Foundation.

Attendees enthusiastically pledged their support towards the Weaver’s Project in Kalna, Bardhaman District, West Bengal. This initiative, boasting 50 operational looms and engaging 200 weaver families across three villages, aims to preserve the traditional Jamdani art form. Under Concern India Foundation’s guidance, the project receives design and marketing interventions.

During the event, guests indulged in a special culinary display while learning about the initiative’s impact. Their generous contributions will aid in revitalising this heritage craft, ensuring its continuation amidst modern trends.

Members were pleased with the black-tie event and were made to feel special for donating generously. The whole idea of the focus group, The Philanthropy Club being to engage members to network, come forward to spread awareness towards various initiatives and make meaningful connections.
