Delegation to GOA

A delegation of the highest number of members at a retreat so far, took off to GOA. Apart from the bonding and networking events, the highlight was meeting the Governor of GOA at the spectacular Raj Bhavan. The Governor briefed the delegation on a variety of interesting subjects, the likes of Goa Tourism, mining, the culture of Goa amongst other things. Furthermore, he shared his vision of making Goa an educational and medical hub. We also learnt about his drive to improve connectivity to Goa from various parts of the country, especially Kolkata. The interaction left us with a deeper insight into the state. The hospitality and warmth by his Excellency left us all mesmerized.

We also had the opportunity to meet with Mr. Naik, the Industries Minister of Goa, who shared knowledge on the various booming industries in Goa. Thereafter, we visited the shoe factory at Porvorim where skilled shoe makers of even 92 years old work. We also did a heritage walk of old Goa and visited several churches!

Overall, the retreat was extremely successful and added value to each of the members’, both at a learning and social level.
