Culmination of 40 Years Celebrations of Flo

Honourable Vice-President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar graced the culminating ceremony of 40 years of FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) as the Chief Guest at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on March 27, 2024.

The 40th-year celebration of FICCI Ladies Organization (FLO) underscored its remarkable journey of empowering women and fostering a positive impact. The theme for Sudha Shivkumar’s year as the 40th National President was “Together We Rise”. It emphasized the collective efforts and unity essential for advancing women’s empowerment. The event acknowledged FLO’s achievements, including its growth to over 10,000 members across 19 chapters and its impact on more than 68,188 women through various initiatives.

FLO’s commitment to empowering its members, optimizing processes, and strengthening the organization was highlighted, along with its collaborations with renowned organizations and global engagements.

Addressing the audience, Shri Dhankhar emphasized the importance of promoting equal opportunities, breaking down barriers, and amplifying the voices and achievements of women. He stated, “We create a society that is not only fairer and more just but also prosperous and sustainable.”

Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar and other esteemed dignitaries and past presidents of FLO graced the occasion, further enriching the event.

In the second segment, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas & Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, highlighted the transformative journey towards an Open Defecation Free India and the success of the Swachh Bharat Mission. He emphasized that initiatives like the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Ujjwala Scheme are instruments of empowerment, particularly for women, ensuring dignity, security, and inclusivity.

The celebration paid tribute to the legacy of the 40 past presidents of FLO, recognizing their tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to the organization’s mission. Their visionary leadership has propelled FLO to become a leading advocate for women empowerment in India, inspiring generations of women to strive for excellence and break barriers.

Smt. Lakshmi M Puri and Smt. Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa also graced the session, adding to the event’s significance and impact.

At the event, writer and actor Kalki Koechlin delivered a heartwarming and poignant soliloquy on motherhood, captivating the audience with her articulation. Her spoken words resonated deeply, highlighting the complexities and joys of motherhood, and celebrating the strength and resilience of women. Kalki’s powerful performance added a profound dimension to the event, inspiring all present to reflect on the significance of motherhood in our lives.
