A conversation between Sulajja Firodia Motwani (MD Kinectic Motor Company Ltd) & Utpal Chatterjee (Ex Sherrif of Kolkata)

The event opened with the address of Sri Sadhan Pande – Hon’ble Minister  Consumer Affairs & Self Help Group & Self-Employment, Government of West Bengal, who informed the packed house about the unique opportunities and schemes designed by the government for the women entrepreneurs today and assured all cooperation to FLO in helping women setting up their businesses.

The converstion between Ms Sulajja Firodia Motwani and Utpal Chatterjee had the audience enthralled with her honest approach towards life and her profession. Her family of Gandhians and Nehruji believers in her chilhood gave her most of her learnings. Her upbringing was brought up with the thought of women empowerment as her family believed in giving 3 daughters equal platform as the son. Values was great importance. It was always about the larger picture of society, industry and family. Ms Motwani comes from a very well educated, honest, sincere, humble and industrious family background. Her MBA education in the US opened her mind, independence and vision. Her journey in her family business started from her two wheeler company to automotive systems & components as of today. Her dream aligns with her own company vision and that is to get technology & innovation to the common man which encouraged her to start Kinectic Green, which means to get green mobility to the common indian man /masses such as electric vehicle, hybrid vehicles, green vehicles so that there is less pollution in the atmosphere thus leads to a sustainable automobile industry not running on fossil fuel but green energy. The UP govt has already given them an order of 27,000 of these green electric auto vehicles for the state autorickshaw pullers thus changing their lives too by transforming their earnings to 10 times what they earn currently. Similar things being done in Delhi too hence bringing values.

“Failures have bought in the greater learnings to succeed” says Ms Motwani. “Corporate Goverance is all about core values which imbibes honesty, integrity, excellence and compassion in our products and delivery of our products in our company”. She firmly believes that there are no short cuts to success. As a woman one should not expect any concessions. If you are a professional, you need to deliver as one, work equally hard as your counterparts no matter what it takes. Entrepreneurship is being motivated against all odds. Self belief is the mantra. Her advice to all entrepreneus was “wake up, dress up, show up and never ever give up”.
