Adarsh Gram Yojna

FICCI FLO North East Chapter has started its Adarsh Gram Yojana with the adoption of village SHANIADIN BELORGURI in the district of Hajo under Ramdia mauza, Assam.

This village is on the Hajo Barpeta road surrounded by paddy fields. The village people are farmers and during the off season, the male members migrate to the city and work as daily wage earners and rickshaw pullers. The women in the village are hardworking and through the means of loans and mortgages weave gamoshas and mekhala chaddars to augment their earnings.

A total number of 70 Women were distributed yarn and FLO NE’s In House designers are giving them training on weaves, patterns, designs etc. Training has also been given on crochet, making of mats from plastics and old clothes. FLO NE will ensure that the income of the households are augmented with intervention and market linkages and the products are as per market demand and trends. FLO will also ensure that the weavers get the right price for their products

Training on Poultry farming is next on the agenda as another income generation avenue for the villagers.

Upcoming activities in the village are health & sanitation awareness campaign, eye and general health check-upetc.
