A play by Ila Arun ‘NAMASTE ‘

A play ‘Namaste’ was organised by FLO in collaboration with MTS. Smt. Maneka Gandhi, Hon’ble Union Cabinet Minister for Women & Child Development, Govt. of India was the Chief Guest.

The play was organised in an endeavour to promote creative arts and bringing together a thought-provoking play depicting the value system of the society. The play featured ace actors Ila Arun and KK Raina.

In her welcome Address, Ms Neeta Boochra, President, FICCI Ladies Organisation said ” In an endeavour to create awareness as also provide a platform to understand the crucial issue pertaining to the society vis-à-vis the perennial scrimmage traditional beliefs and new age philosophy, the play has been staged.” The play was attended by both FLO & YFLO members.

‘Namaste’, directed by Shri. K. K. Raina, focuses on the new world, where barriers are shrinking and where traditions, values and religion are struggling to keep up with a new generation, undecided on the path they much follow. Inevitably, this leads to a conflict between the old and the emerging ‘New’.

Ila Arun, writer of the Hindi adaptation of the play said “The play is a portrayal of a dialogue between two generations – new and the old. It aims at bridging the gap between the two by continued communication. Communication is the only key to bringing both the generations closer. ”

Chandra Khanna, Governing Body Member FLO and MTS graciously hosted the play.
