101st International Women’s Day: How Far Have we Broken the Glass Ceiling March 6th, 2012

On the occasion of 101st International Women’s Day, an interactive session on ‘How Far have we broken the Glass Ceiling’ was organized. Smt. Krishna Tirath Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Women & Child Development, Government of India was the Chief Guest.

Smt Krishna Tirath talked about the changing role of women in the society and economy around the globe. She emphasized on the difficult journey of women in combating long-standing prejudices and working their way to the top of companies or starting their own businesses. She also highlighted on various steps undertaken by the government in promoting women empowerment.

Neena Malhotra, President FLO extended her gratitude to Priya Hingorani for her support in coordinating the programme.

Smt Tirath also participated in the Holi Celebration after the event along with the members.

The event was hosted by Charu Gupta, FLO member. The ambience and decoration was quite spectacular and added zest to the celebration.
