FLO Bazaar and Fellowship Meet
New Delhi - November 24th, 2010
Along with the annual fellowship programme, this year FLO members were given an opportunity to showcase their products at the fellowship meet. A nominal fee was charged and we had 32 members participating in the fair.
The event was hosted by GB member Meera Goyal. Old and new members enjoyed Chaat while shopping and dancing to old Hindi songs played on the piano by FLO member Gauri.
PP Anuradha Goel and Neha Garg helped to put the programme together.

FLO BAZAAR- A Pan India Shopping Extravaganza
Dates and Days: March 5-6, 2010 (Friday-Saturday)
Venue: FICCI Lawn, Tansen Marg, New Delhi
"FLO Bazaar- A Pan India Shopping Extravaganza", an exhibition featuring products by women entrepreneurs from across the country, was organized on Friday, March 5 and Saturday, March 6, 2010 at FICCI lawn, New Delhi from 11am - 6pm. The primary objective of the exhibition was to provide marketing opportunities for women entrepreneurs from various fields. This is in keeping with FLO's core objective of promoting entrepreneurship and professional excellence in women.
The exhibition provided a platform for the women entrepreneurs to display their products for better marketing, and facilitated contact with buyers, sellers, and suppliers.
Dr Kiran Walia, Hon'ble Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Women and Child Development, Languages, Government of NCT of Delhi inaugurated the event. A total of 75 participants from Delhi, Mumbai, Hydrabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Hydrabad, and Guwahati participated in the exhibition. The items on display ranged from silver artifacts to designer jewellery, paintings, western and ethnic women wear, food, gift and stationery items, kids wear, accessories, herbal products, and healthy treats.
The exhibition was well-received by the visitors. The turnout on the first day, a working day, far exceeded the turnout on the second day of the exhibition. The event secured on-the-spot sales, orders, and contacts with and potential clients for many of the exhibitors.
The event was well-covered by the media. Snippets appeared in Hindustan, Midday, The Political and Business Daily, and Nai Dunia.
Many of the exhibitors were keen to participate in the next FLO Bazaar and a few members and visitors expressed their desire to book a stall for the same.
The exhibition, sponsored by Phillips (Gold Sponsor) and Lanco Group (Silver Sponsor), and supported by Hanns Siedel Foundation, Germany, has added a new dimension to the developmental activities taken up by FLO by creating a marketing opportunity for women entrepreneurs. |
