Signing of MoU with Women on Wings to Accelerate Sustainable Livelihood for Women In India

FICCI Ladies Organization and Women on Wings have started collaborating to identify and support social enterprises working primarily with rural women in sectors such as agri and food processing, agri and eco-tourism, textiles and handicrafts, waste management and related upstream activities and NTFP. The goal of this support is to increase livelihood opportunities and growth of women artisans engaged with the selected organizations.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed on Tuesday May 26, 2020, during a webinar which marked the official launch of the collaboration between FICCI Ladies Organization (FLO) and Women on Wings.

Ms Jahnabi Phookan, who was newly elected as President of FLO on May 22, 2020: “I am excited to take the vision of the organization forward by promoting entrepreneurship and professional excellence among women. Women on Wings wonderfully matches our mission and I look forward to partner with them.”

Mr Ronald van het Hof, Managing Director at Women on Wings share the vision of Women on Wings and added that FLO and WoW share a common vision of promoting grassroots enterprises and helping the women workers therein become economically independent. He said , “I am really proud that we are now joining hands in our effort to empower one million women in rural India.”

Ms Supriya Kapoor, Senior Business Consultant, Women on Wings also addressed the session on facilitating sustainable livelihood generation for women.

She also shared the case study of Anjali Singh, founder and CEO at Jute Artisans Guild Association who has been a partner with WoW and receives consultancy and mentoring in her enterprise.
